Reviewing past drawer sessions
Look back at how previous shifts closed out, including their variance.
By the end of this article, you have pulled up the history of past drawer sessions.
This is an admin view
Drawer history is only visible to admin logins; it does not appear on the Cash Drawer screen for a cashier.
View the history
- Open Settings and click the Cash Drawer card.
- Click Load drawer history.
A table appears listing every session: when it opened and closed, which employee opened it, the opening float, the expected amount, the counted amount, and the variance. A session still open shows open in the Closed column instead of a time.
Reading it at a glance
The variance column makes it easy to scan for sessions that did not balance. A positive variance means the drawer had more cash than expected at close-out; a negative one means it had less.
